Help us foster healthy human connections

The Mind & Life Institute operates as a nonprofit organization thanks to the charitable contributions of individuals, foundations and sponsors. Charitable contributions are the source of more than 90% of Mind & Life’s budget. As careful stewards of the funds entrusted to the institute, Mind & Life undergoes a third-party audit every year and complies with all regulations governing non-profits in the United States. The Mind & Life Institute is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code, EIN #77-0284767.

Building on Mind & Life’s 35-year history, we engage researchers, contemplatives, and changemakers around big questions. How can the potential of our minds be understood and leveraged to bring humanity together? Through grantmaking and convenings we foster insights, then share this knowledge to inspire action—to bridge divides, improve mental health, nurture pro-social qualities, deepen human-earth connection and more.

Your donation enables us to provide the vital resources and opportunities to foster rigorous research and to educate, support, and inspire the most innovative thinkers and doers in the field. When you give to Mind & Life, you:

  • Support educational programs that inspire people to be a force for positive change;
  • Invest in leading-edge scientific research into how contemplative wisdom can be used to transform our world; and
  • Strengthen efforts to make the field of contemplative science more equitable, diverse, and inclusive

Join us in revealing new paths toward wellbeing for all. Each gift contributes to powerful work toward individual, societal, and planetary flourishing.

Contemplative traditions have developed the practices and understandings we need in this uncertain time. And Mind & Life has brought these into the world through the lens of science and scholarship, so they can be used by people everywhere.
