This project seeks to implement Mindfulness Trainings based on the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Protocol (MBSR) consisting of 8-week courses, with weekly sessions of 2 hours each session and an informative/taster session with a duration of 60 minutes prior to the beginning of the course (total amount of hours: 17 hours). The target population of these programs will be the mothers and teachers of children living with blindness or low vision and who also have additional disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, microcephalia, down syndrome, among others and who attend the Public School “Don Luis Braille” in Asuncion, Paraguay. Most families in this school come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, so the trainings will be offered free of charge. The desired goal is the reduction of the levels of stress and anxiety in the mothers and teachers. Mindfulness trainings align with the mission and values of the Mind & Life Institute.
